The postpartum period can be an incredibly hectic time full of showering your little one with love, getting acquainted with sleepless nights and all the other aspects that come with motherhood.
Getting time to yourself can be a rarity but when the opportunity arises even for a short time, there’s nothing quite like a bit of self-care.
Take a look at some of my postpartum self-care favourites.
Ekó Botanicals Amina Ritual Cleansing Oil
I fell in love with Ekó Botanicals range of high-quality skincare some time ago now. I have now permanently traded in my harsher cleansers for a gentler offering, and this has been a treat for my skin.
I use this cleanser to remove my makeup and it leaves my skin feeling super soft, which is worlds away from other cleansers that have previously resulted in dryness.
This formula has been carefully curated to provide a deep cleanse as well as nourish, relieve any dryness and promote radiance.
Sanctuary Body Scrub
I have long been a fan of Sanctuary products because they really do feel like a piece of the spa in the home.
Sometimes I like to go the extra mile and use a body scrub to give my skin some exfoliation.
This salt scrub contains dead sea salt, coconut and jojoba oil.
Mielle Deep Conditioner
I like to dedicate some of my time to caring for my hair particularly as it requires a lot of moisture. A good deep conditioner always leaves my tresses feeling refreshed and soft.
Mielle’s Rosemary and Mint Strengthening hair masque has become a firm staple in my hair care routine. Infused with Biotin this works to strengthen and provide much-needed moisture to the hair.
I apply this to my hair, put on a cap and let it soak in before washing it off.
Elemis Ginseng Toner
Whether you’re cleansing or simply want to give your skin a refresh, this toner from Elemis is a perfect pick.
The toner works to maintain the skins natural PH level without the use of harsh ingredients, this helps to moisturise the skin and leave it appearing radiant.
I love using this after cleansing to ensure I’ve removed any last traces of makeup.
Weleda Stretch Mark Oil
Weleda’s Stretch Mark Oil feels like a real treat for the skin, not only does it smell a dream it also sinks in effortlessly.
I massage this onto my skin every night before bed as part of my routine. This features a combination of sweet almond and jojoba oils as well as Vitamins A, D and E.
Weleda Skin Food
Anything that intensely moisturises my skin is a winner, and this might be one of my favourite skin creams yet.
Created for dry, rough skin, this was a saviour in pregnancy when areas of my skin needed nourishing. I now use this every evening after cleansing and I love the dewy finish it gives.
Rimmel Oh My Gloss! Lip Oil
A product that has become increasingly popular, this lip oil from Rimmel is a great alternative to lip glosses. I love using this as part of a more understated make up look or simply on days when I am going make up free.
This provides hydration to the lips and a gorgeous, subtle hint of colour which can be built up depending on how much product you apply.
My current favourite is the shade Vivid Red.
The Mantras by Roxie Nafousi
I am a such a big fan of Roxie Nafousi having read her books on manifestation. I find her incredibly inspiring, and the books changed the way I view everything from self-care and self-worth to going for my dreams.
I purchased these mantra cards at Roxie’s show at Alexandra Palace and I pick one every morning to set the tone for the day.
Each card features an uplifting, positive quote and as instructed by Roxie herself, I repeat it five times before starting my day.
