Ever since I found out that I was pregnant, I knew that I wanted to pick products for Azaiah that would be as gentle as possible on his skin. Bath time has become an integral part of our routine, it’s great for settling down and showing him that bedtime is near, but it’s also been amazing for bonding.
We now have a select few products that are great on his skin and hair from Nala’s Baby which is a firm favourite to Aveeno.
Take a look at my pick of the best bath time products for baby.
This soft touch bath is secure and provides support for baby during bath time. We opted for this simplistic, neutral colourway but it’s also available in blue and pink. It’s good to note that this requires filling the bathtub up to a point however, the helpful water level indicator ensures that your little bub is safe.
The material is warmed quickly by the water temperature, so you won’t have to worry about your baby feeling cold when initially being placed in the bath.
JoJo Maman Bébé Thermobaby Aquababy Bath Seat
If your little bub is ready to move from a bath to a seat, this is a great pick. The thermobaby bath seat has been designed with strong suction to ensure they’re secure during bath time as well as a non-slip seat surface,
The seat also features three swivel toys to keep them entertained and has a heightened back to ensure they’re comfortable during bath time.
My 1st Years Bath Towel
There’s nothing quite like seeing your little one wrapped up in a hooded towel after bath time and we love this personalised pick from My 1st Years at Next, it would also make a great gift.
This pack of five flannels from Mothercare are 100% cotton making them super gentle for baby’s skin. These are great for bath time and everyday use when getting baby ready.
It’s no secret that I couldn’t wait to give Nala’s Baby products a try after I’d heard such good things about the brand. The products are non-toxic and gentle for baby’s skin plus, they’re suitable from newborn right though to childhood.
Since being pregnant with Azaiah I really connected to the story behind the brand because I also felt a responsibility to find products that contained as little harmful ingredients as possible.
This body wash contains natural ingredients from oat to camomile and it smells amazing. If you’re in search of cleaner products, give Nala’s Baby a go.
Part of the dreamy vanilla cloud range, this nighttime oil makes the perfect addition to a relaxing evening bath with little ones. It contains a blend of vitamin E and C, Castor Oil and Lavender Oil. I love using this on Azaiah before bedtime as massaging has been a game changer in settling him down. This sinks into the skin leaving it soft and moisturised.
This creamy body butter helps to relieve itchy skin as well as reducing inflammation. This melts into Azaiah’s skin leaving it beautifully moisturised and it has gone a long way in reducing any dryness.
Suitable for newborn skin, I have been using this on Azaiah’s hair and his curls have been left super soft after use. The wash contains natural oat extract to deliver soothing properties and the soap free formula protects the skins natural barrier to avoid dryness.
I was in search of a product that I could use on Azaiah’s hair but didn’t want any creams that would be too heavy being that he is newborn. I found this coconut oil which I have been applying to his hair and scalp.
The oil has defined his little curls and ensured his hair remains moisturised. I use this after a hair wash as well as at points when I feel his hair could do with a boost.
Aveeno Baby Dermexa Emollient Cream
Suitable for babies with eczema, this has been formulated with ceramides to help strengthen the skin’s barrier. Azaiah has suffered from a bit of eczema and dryness, so the Dermexa range seemed like a great fit.
This glides on his skin and hasn’t caused any irritation. The unscented formula leaves Azaiah’s skin feeling soft and has improved the dryness.
Nala’s Kids Deep Conditioner
This deep conditioner from Nala’s Kids features castor oil, shea butter and oat milk to soften tresses and protect against breakage. Simply apply after shampooing and leave on your little ones hair for one to two minutes.
The tropical scent smells a dream, and this left Azaiah’s hair feeling noticeably softer. I love how easily this can be worked through the hair and his curls looked beautifully defined after rinsing.
First Steps Baby Bath Books
Make bath time with your little one more interactive with this set of 4 bath books. From first words to numbers, these are perfect for learning. Azaiah isn’t quite at this stage yet but he loves his bath books, the vibrant colours and imagery have made them a fun addition to bath time.
Yellow Rubber Ducks
Bath time would not be complete without the addition of some rubber ducks. This set of 9 ducks float along the water as well as squeak making them fun for your bub to play with.
Little Lot Bathtime Bob Along Boats Bath Toy
This set of colourful boats has been a hit with Azaiah, who loves playing with them during bath time. They help to promote development through fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
